Brains Behind the Boots: Meet the Titans manager Kimera Bwogi

Kimera Bwogi: The Titan Behind the Titans

He once wore the maroon uniform. Now, he wears the weight of the crest on the touchline.

For Kimera Bwogi, returning to Vienna College Namugongo wasn’t just a homecoming, it was a full-circle moment.

“I immediately jumped at the opportunity,” he says. “It’s a great honor. It reminds me of some very fond memories from my high school days.”

Today, Bwogi manages the Vienna Titans, the school’s alumni football team a squad as diverse as the decades it spans.

COACH. MENTOR. FIXER.

No clipboard-tossing rants. No barking on the sidelines. Bwogi’s role is cut from a different cloth.

“I’m the team manager,” he explains. “I handle welfare ; kits, refreshments, logistics, events. And I check in on players regularly. Sometimes, guys who don’t play just need a call or text. That’s part of the job.”

It’s leadership off the pitch. Mentorship in motion.

Together with fellow alumni Joel, Losh and Leeroy, Bwogi helps keep the engine running every matchday, every training, every after-party.

🔥 RIVALRIES & REDEMPTION

Ask any Titan: Vienna vs. Kabojja isn’t just another fixture.

“In the early 2000s, we were the two giants. All eyes were on each other and they still are,” Bwogi says.

This season, a painful loss to Kabojja cut deep.

“We were one win away from topping the table. That one stung.”

Still, what truly sets the Titans apart? Legacy. From Denis Sempebwa (Class of 2002) to Ronnie Kasujja (2003 best keeper in the league), all the way to Class of 2025, the squad is a living timeline of Vienna alumni pride.

“That says a lot about the bond Vienna builds,” Bwogi adds.

STRATEGY & SQUAD DYNAMICS

Managing egos from multiple eras? Not easy. But Bwogi’s smart enough to stay in his lane.

“I don’t get too involved in the selection , we've got people for that,” he grins.

And the dressing room vibe before a big game?

 “Hyped. United. Exciting.”

QUICKFIRE ROUND

Hardest Titan to manage?

“Alvin Aijuka. One time he subbed himself mid-game to go to a show. I kept looking for him on the pitch!”

Post-match activity?

“Banter over a beer or two. That’s the good stuff.”

If not coaching on a Saturday?

“On a construction site. I'm into real estate!”

One word to define the Titans?

 “UNITED.”

From WhatsApp check-ins to beer-soaked post-match banter, from old school rivalries to sideline strategy Kimera Bwogi isn’t just managing a football team. He’s managing memories, building bridges, and keeping the spirit of Vienna alive one kit, one call, one game at a time.
