A Legacy of Love: How the Class of 2025 is Giving Back Before Moving Forward

As the Vienna College Namugongo Class of 2025 prepares to close one chapter and open another, they are choosing to do so not just with celebration but with service. In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and community spirit, the graduating class is coming together to organize their second charity outreach, this time to Nsambya Babies Home, scheduled for 12th July 2025.

This initiative isn’t a one-off effort. It follows a similar outreach held on December 1st, 2024, when students visited Sanyu Babies Home under the school’s Teenagers Making a Difference Club. That first experience planted a seed a shared understanding that the journey through high school isn't just about academic achievement but also about learning to care, lead, and contribute to something larger than oneself.

Now, as graduation draws near, the Class of 2025 is embracing one final act of collective service before they part ways for university and diverse futures. For them, this outreach is more than a class project; it is a legacy. A reminder that their time at Vienna wasn’t only about growth within the school walls, but also about extending kindness and compassion to those outside them.

“We wanted to do something meaningful together as a class, something that would leave a positive mark on the community and remind us of the power of unity,” Belisha Mayanja, one of the student leaders, shared.

The initiative is also a practical exercise in leadership and collaboration. Students are drawing on key life skills like mobilization, coordination, budgeting, and communication to bring the project to life. These are lessons that will serve them well far beyond the classroom.

With a goal to donate baby essentials such as clothes, foodstuffs, formula, and toys, the outreach reflects the students’ growing awareness of the needs of underserved communities, and their commitment to doing what they can to make a difference.

This spirit of giving is what makes Vienna alumni strong and connected. The Class of 2025 is calling on the broader school community alumni, parents, and partners to support this mission through contributions or spreading the word.

As they prepare to step into new worlds, these young leaders are choosing to leave behind something beautiful: a testament to what it means to grow in service, love, and purpose.
